It's been awhile!

I know, I know, I know. It's been over a year since I last posted a blog. So many things have happened. And of course Makenna is now the big 2.

Where should I begin...

Well, as most of you know, in November of 2006, KB Home did a massive layoff, which included me, and that was really hard. Being a single Mommy and out of work is probably the toughest thing I've had to go through so far. It took me until the end of January of this year to get a new job, and that was only temporary for Newmark Homes. While Newmark Homes builds beautiful homes, the working environment was like walking into hell everyday. No respect, no teamwork, no leadership, just a bunch of people out to get you everyday. It has to be the worst job I ever had. But, I am happy to report, thanks so very much to one of my Best Friends Renee, I am now a new employee of Spring Branch ISD. And let me tell you...It is absolutely amazing!!! I couldn't have wished for a better job. Not only is it a great school district to work for, but the pay is amazing (more than I've ever made before :) ), and Makenna and I will have insurance starting November 1st. YEAH. Everyone knows how hard it is medically without insurance. Especially with a baby!

So now life is starting to look up again. Makenna's 2nd birthday just passed and boy does she act it. Although still sweet as pie, she's definately a red head. Her hair gets more red the more it grows. She's already had her first haircut, thanks to my another Best Friend of mine, Gina....By the way Gina, she needs another one!!! :)

Well now that I have a GREAT JOB, and a BEAUTIFUL 2 yr old little girl, I'm ready to find that special someone. So, if any of you out there know someone who's able to put up with me and my crazy life, please feel free to send them my way!!!! :)

My little Love Bug

I must apologize to all for being so bad at updating this site. I can't believe it's been 3 months since my last post....Man does time fly! And believe it or not, but my Angel will be 1 years old on the 18th of this month. It doesn't seem like it's been a year, and they weren't kidding when they said it would zoom by us day by day...Time that is! :)

Well, in case you didn't know, we entered Makenna in the Studio One "Cutest Kid" Contest. She is located at the Willowbrook Mall Studio. If you go to www.s121.com and in the top right hand corner click to vote for the Cutest Kid, you can vote over and over again for Makenna. Once you click there you move down to the Willowbrook Mall studio and click there again. Makenna is located on the 2nd row, 6th picture over. It's not our best, since she was not having a good day that day, but we think she's as gorgeous as any day. If you highlight the little bubble below her picture and click to vote at the bottom of the page if will direct you to put in your name and email address and give you a certificate for a free session, or $5 off, I can't remember. Voting is only going on until Septemver 10th. So please, if you LOVE Makenna as much as me, vote for my baby girl for Cutest Kid @ Studio One. I know I've waited till the last minute to get this up here for all to see and to vote, and I can't tell you why and how crazy it's been. I hope this post finds everyone doing well. We miss ya'll tons and look forward to the holiday seasons coming up so that we can visit will every one of you. I've included some pictures of Makenna to get you by for now! There will be more to come, I really do promise to get better at these posts!

9 Months - My Big Girl

This morning was our 9 month well baby visit and it went great! Makenna now weighs in @ 7lbs, 12ozs and is in the 25-50 % range for weight, and she is only 26" long and is in the 25% range for length. We only had to get 1 shot today and she did awesome. After they stuck her with it she looked at me and then at her leg and started to cry but quickly stopped and was fine after that. Although we've been kind of fussy today, nothing compared to her getting 4 shots like the other visits or being sick. She is a very healthy 9 month old baby girl, and very beautiful I have to say.

I have entered Makenna in the Babies 'R' Us Baby Calendar Search. We have our entry photo and # and we are scheduled to take her portraits tomorrow that will actually be submitted for the contest. I will be posting those this weekend for all to see. I pray that they will come out good since she has a real big bruise on her forhead from the sitters house on Tuesday. Sad part being that the sitter couldn't tell me what happened. Needless to say, she is no longer with that sitter, and she is with an even better one. The new sitter only keeps Makenna and another little girl who is 2 yrs old. Makenna and Sydney are already great friends. Makenna follows Sydney around and they chatter to each other. She plays so hard now a days that she's so worn out when I pick her up after work that it's not too long after we get home that she's ready for bed.

Well, that's it for now. Like I said, I will get those new pictures on here this weekend. I'll have to cover that bruise of hers up with my makeup. Ha Ha Ha!!! :) We miss everyone and wish you all the best. Happy Fathers Day to all you Dad's out there. Have a great weekend. Love ya'll!

8 1/2 months

Here are some recent pictures of the beautiful Makenna! As I always say, she's growing up too fast. There isn't much to report from here, but we would like to wish everyone happiness and love and hope everyone is doing well. We love and miss everyone! Take care and enjoy! :)

Pretty in Blue

Isn't she beautiful in Blue!!!! She's such a girlie girl sometimes. These were taken on Friday and she was so adorable. I would hold the camera up to take her picture and then I'd count to 3 and she's look right at me until I got to 3 and then "SMILE"! So cute!!!!

Well, I am again needing some advice. We are back to not sleeping through the nights. It all started on Friday night when she was up until after 11:30 pm all because she had at the most a 20 minute nap. It took forever to get her down that night. Then,on Saturday we had a blast! We played non stop all day and of course she had her normal 2 good naps during the day, but she only slept for 3 hours after her last bottle of the night which was at 8:00 pm and then when she woke up at 11:00 pm she was not goign to go down easy. I had to try everything to get her to go back to sleep. It was after 1 when she did go back down. Then last night (Sunday Night) well, this morning, @ 1:00 she was up again. HELP ME! I can't continue this way. Does anyone have any suggestions???? As a working single mom, I can't stay up every night with her. I understand that sometimes she will get a tummy ache or gas, but it's now becoming a trend.
