Oopps! I Forgot the Pictures

I have to apologize to everyone. I really did forget to take pictures of the munchkin yesterday. I even forgot to take pictures of the party. I even brought my camera, but left it in my purse, in the car. I'm such a goof! So, I am sorry, and I promise to get new pictures up as soon as I can.

The party was fun. Makenna was a hit. She smiled at everyone and was very sociable. Everyone adored her, which come on, who wouldn't! :) I think the party even wore her out because she fell asleep right before we left and then we we got home she took about an hour and a half nap, then still went to bed at 8:45 pm. Poor baby, she was exhausted. This morning was so hard to wake her up to feed her and change her to go the sitter. But as tired as she was, she still managed some smiles for Mommy. So my day was made before I even left the house. Oh, where would I be without her!!! She's my everything...and she knows it.

These pictures are from Christmas, I had just never posted them. Enjoy and I hope everyone has a great week. I can't believe it's February this week already! WOW, how the time flies.

And Granny, If you are reading this, Makenna and I miss you tons and love you dearly! We'll talk to you soon!

Lazy Weekend

What a lazy weekend this has been. Although lazy isn't bad as long as its not all the time. I have some free time by myself for now, Makenna was so worn out that she's taking a morning nap. I think I really wore her out yesterday. We played with everything and got into anything and everything we could. :) She's such an angel that I never want the weekends to end because I love being around her every minute of everyday.

Today we are going to a Welcome Home party for a good friend of mine, whom I went to High School with (Kelly). She's still in the Air Force, and she has a little boy named Tyler Austin. Anyways she's coming home today from a tour in Iraq. I'm so excited to see her and her son. It's been so long since I saw her last. I promise to get pictures and I'll post them later. Only 1 more week of Oatmeal, which she is doing great on, and then we start stage 1 baby food. They say to start with Vegetables first (sqash, sweet potatoes, and carrots) , then we move on the the green vegetables, and last but not least she can have fruits. I can't believe we are alreading eating from a spoon! Where has the time gone! I want her to stay this little forever!!! Ok, at least for a little while longer.

I've got to run and get ready for the party. I can't wait to dress up Makenna!!! :) She has a new blue jean overalls to wear and it looks so precious. I'll post the pictures of all this later. We love ya'll and pray everyone is doing well. Talk to ya later.

What a Cute Mess!!

Isn't she just the cutest little mess you've ever seen!!! Day 2 with Oatmeal is still going as great as yesterday! She is still loving it. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on this one. I needed as much help as I could get.

Other than still eating the oatmeal, I don't have anything new to share today! She is still loving her new sitter, and again is so tired tonight that she's been asleep since 8:00 pm. Which is great for me. I got so much done last night and tonight, and still had a great night's sleep. I hope this is a new trend for her. And one that will last at that.

I hope everyone is doing well!

OK, this time she really did eat!

Tonight she really did eat from a spoon! I think I jinxed us by telling everyone how she ate all her rice on Sunday night. But that was the only time she ate it. Even the sitter cannot get her to eat it. So, after speaking with the pediatrician earlier today, she suggested that since we have been on rice for 4 days, to go ahead and try plain oatmeal. WOW, what a difference. She couldn't get enough of this stuff. She ate all of it. And it was so adorable to watch. I promise to take pictures of the munchkin eating her oatmeal, because the after picture is hilarious. It's all over her. I guess I didn't think that it would be this messy. Hey, I'm still learning!!! :)

So, now that we are getting the hang of the oatmeal, the pediatrician says we will move on to stage 1 baby food, vegetables, in two weeks. I'm so excited, yet sad. This means she's already growing faster than I ever imagined.

Oh, the NEW sitter is working out great! Makenna seems to be much happier when I pick her up in the evenings. NOt to mention she's already down for the night and it's only 8:15pm. I can't believe. She was so tired at 7:30 that I quickly bathed her and fed her and out she went. I truly love the new sitter, I'm not worried about Makenna as much during the day now! And I know she's well taken care of and happy! :)

Stay tuned, there's always more coming!

Growing up too fast!

She did it!!! Last night she ate the whole serving (one tablespoon) of cereal. It took us almost 2 days to actually eat it all in one sitting, but she's done it. My, oh my, how they grow up so fast. My little angel shows more independence everyday.
We have started with a new babysitter today. There are more kids at this home care so I'm hoping she'll be very entertained! I worry about her while I'm at work, I just don't want her to cry all day without me. I know they say a little crying is okay for babies sometimes, but it breaks my heart to hear her cry. This sitter is actually much easier on me, cheaper for one, licensed for another, and willing to work with my schedule. I'll keep everyone posted on this! I'll need all the advice I can get on how to get through this change.

Keep smiling, and we'll talk to you soon!
Love,
Nicole and Makenna :)

Makenna @ 4 months old!

Makenna is now 4 months old. We went to her 4 month well baby visit on Thursday and she had another round of shots. I hate her getting shots, but I must say that this time was so much easier than the first time. She only cried for about 5 minutes and then she was fine. She now weighs 12 lbs and 3 ozs., and she is only 23 inches long. She is short, just like her mommy. But nonetheless, she is perfectly heathly. And growing up so fast. The pediatrician, who is absolutely wonderful, said that Makenna's love for standing up while you support her is a sign of independence. I sooo didn't want to hear that. I don't want her to show she doesn't need me. Maybe when she's 18. Ha ha ha!!
Well, she's rolling over from back to stomache now, and proud of it. Changing a diaper on her has never been this hard, she's constantly trying to roll over. But so cute when she does it. We've also started cereal this weekend, but I can tell she's going to be a picky eater, just like her mommy, because she's making horrible faces as I try to feed it to her with a spoon. So, I guess for now, we'll put it in the morning and last bottles of the day. And still try with the spoon. Maybe I'll have to try some with a flavor. Who knows. She sits in a new seat we got her called a "Bumbo" . She loves this seat. She mostly supports her self to sit up, the seat is just helping her master the skill, while making sure that she doesn't fall over. She's so adorable in it.
I hope everyone is doing great! Please feel free to leave any comments on anything I write, especially if you have any advice about feeding her solids and this cereal issue. Take care and remember to smile always and that Makenna and I love and miss you all.
